Stuttgart ponder move for Manchester United's Federico Macheda

Stuttgart are considering a move for Manchester United striker Federico Macheda as sporting director Fredi Bobic.

The Italian could not be established in the first team after failing States loaned to Sampdoria and QPR and Stuttgart are in the market for a striker.

• 21 years fits the bill, as long as the conditions are perfect for a transfer to the Bundesliga club.

"We looked for a while," said Bobic Stuttgart Nachrichten newspaper. "This is one of the players we have on our list."

Stuttgart 2-0 defeat at Wolfsburg at the weekend highlighted the need for a striker with top scorer Vedad Ibisevic and replacing suspended Shinji Okazaki fail to impress.

"Vedo know very important for us, but do not count on it," said Bobic.
