Ferguson calls for authorities to clamp down on racism

Sir Alex Ferguson has called on the authorities to crack down on racism in football.

The Manchester United manager was near the center of a controversy - defender Patrice Evra was racially abused by Luis Suarez of Liverpool, who has just completed the eight-game suspension imposed by the Football Association as a punishment.

Suarez meets face to face again with Evra at Old Trafford on Saturday and Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish has fueled the fire before the match saying that he does not believe to be Uruguayan prohibited.

Ferguson admitted that his mind had become "damage limitation", then moved to Chelsea a 3-0 lead after the break at Stamford Bridge.
